Conviction for rape and murder of minor– Accused committed brutal rape and murder of 8 year old girl child in hapless situation– Accused how ever had no criminal antecedents and hailed from poor socio-economic background– Unblemished conduct of accused inside jail cannot be unnoticed– Possibility of reformation of accused, cannot be ruled out– Case of accused did not fall in category of ‘ Rarest of rare case’ — Death sentenceof accused altered to life imprisonment.
