“Supreme Court Rules Commuting Accidents Covered Under Employment Compensation”

The Supreme Court held that accidents occurring while commuting to or from work are deemed to arise out of and in the course of employment under the Employees’ Compensation Act, 1923, provided a nexus between the accident and employment is established. The Court reversed the High Court’s decision and restored the compensation awarded to the deceased watchman’s family.
