Title :- Supreme Court Issues Nationwide Guidelines to Safeguard Student Mental Health in Educational Institutions
The Supreme Court issued comprehensive guidelines under Article 32 and Article 141 to protect student mental health across all educational institutions in India. Institutions must adopt mental health policies, appoint qualified counsellors, conduct staff training, and ensure inclusive, non-discriminatory environments. Coaching centres are specifically directed to regulate academic pressure and provide structured career counselling. States and Union Territories must frame rules for coaching centres within two months, and a compliance affidavit must be filed by the Union of India within 90 days. District-level monitoring committees are also mandated for oversight and grievance redressal.
