Gift can be revoked on all the grounds on which a contract can be revoked.
Gift deed is not revocable solely on the donor’s will.
Unconditional gifts cannot be revoked by a donor.
A gift can be revoked by rescission, as in the case of contracts.
If it is proved that consent of the donor was not free, it is a ground for revoking the gift.
Under Section 126 of Transfer of Property Act, a gift can be revoked on all the grounds on which a contract can be revoked.
In such cases, the undue influence, force or coercion not only needs to be specifically and precisely pleaded but also must be proved as well.
