NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENTS ACT, 1881 SECTION 138, 143A.
If the accused did not deposit the interim compensation in court, the opportunity to cross examination the complainant and his witnesses can not be closed merely on this ground.
Interim compensation payable under Section 143A can be recovered as if it were a fine.
Valuable right of the accused to cross-examine the witness cannot be taken away on the ground of non-deposit of interim compensation.
